MICHAEL KAGAN is a writer, screenwriter, playwright, poet, and film producer. He co-produced the award-winning documentary THE BOOK OF CURSES (2020) and THE TUNNEL OF HOPE (2014). Both films are strongly influenced by his father’s experiences as a young teenager in the Holocaust and the destruction of his community. Kagan’s play SEARCHING FOR BERKOVICH, about his search for the mysterious author of a diary recently found, was performed as readings in Jerusalem, London and in Novogrudok, Belarus on the site of the ghetto/death camp where the diary was written. His screenplay GUARDIAN ANGELS, a fantasy action movie that takes place in Kaifeng, China during the Song Dynasty (12th Century) was optioned for production in China. His play DIRT (WGA Registration Number: 2052726) is under consideration for daily performances at the Ghetto Fighters’ Museum, Israel. Kagan is also a hi-tech entrepreneur with a PhD in chemistry. He lives in Jerusalem.
