I come from a family of architects, where my father, mother, brother, uncle and even my grandfather all belong to architectural background. Naturally, it was also expected from me to follow that career, but that option was never a choice for me as I wanted to be different and not a robot following the same path that everyone was following. Still, I was very intrigued by the architects and how it enables one to design spaces through their vison without compromising the function of the space. An architect and a filmmaker, believe it or not, is a similar field in which both require a narrative to shape and design one’s vison. Both are just the mediums in which one expresses themselves where the final product is quite different, but the essence of artistic touch remains the same. I often tried to integrate architecture with filmmaking and vice versa into my workflow where I could enjoy the best of both worlds by creating grounded and sometimes very abstract spaces with the help of my skills of being an architect and also creating interesting characters that would populate those spaces and bind them with the power of storytelling.
