The 25th edition of TIFF’s Wavelengths programme will showcase a diverse selection of eight feature Films, a unique double-bill presentation, and three shorts programmes. Among the highlights is the world premiere of Levers by Rhayne Vermette, following her acclaimed Ste. Anne (2021), which won the TIFF Amplify Voices Award.

Audiences can also look forward to the North American premiere of Lav Diaz’s Magellan—an adventurous Cannes Premiere title starring Gael García Bernal and Alexandre Koberidze’s Dry Leaf, an experimental project filmed on an old Sony Ericsson phone, set to debut at Locarno before its TIFF screening.

This year, the lineup of TIFF, one of the most prominent Film Festivals, also includes a heartfelt tribute to avant-garde Filmmaker Tomonari Nishikawa, a cherished friend of the Film Festival who passed away in April. In his memory, TIFF will screen his short film Ten Mornings Ten Evenings And One Horizon, which first premiered at the Film Festival in 2016.

Curated by senior curator Andréa Picard and associate curator Jesse Cumming, with contributions from Jason Anderson and Diana Cadavid, the programme promises to be a vibrant celebration of experimental and international cinema.
