The HaHaArt Film Festival is searching for the funniest short-films from around the world.

This will be the 2nd Edition of the festival, that seeks to give notoriety to the cinematic genre of Comedy, focusing on short-films both national and international. There are a number of different film festivals in Portugal, both focusing on a particular genre or not specific to any genre. Our festival is the only Comedy Film Festival in Portugal, as a challenge we intend to promote Comedy, a genre commonly not regarded as highly as others.

The festival will be promoted by the CineClube de Pombal in partnership with Município de Pombal.

We only accept Comedy Short films in the Festival competition.

The submissions to the first HaHaArt Film Festival will be open until July 31st 2023. All the candidates will be notified of the final selection of films starting August 31st.

The official selection will be of about 40 comedy short-films. These numbers may vary according to the submissions received by the festival team.

HaHaArt Film Festival allows the submission of comedy short-films produced between 2020 and 2023. They may compete in the following categories:

Best International Comedy Film
Best National Comedy Film
Best International Comedy Film Director
Best National Comedy Film Director

From each director/producer we allow the maximum of three submissions, that must be all original.

The submitted films should be presented in a digital format with the intent of being projected in a film theater. The following formats are permitted: 2K Native (2048x1080), 2K Flat (1998x1080) and Full HD (1920x1080). Codec H264 (mov / mp4 ), audio AAC.
Films in any language are admitted, as long as they have English or Portuguese subtitles.
