Every year the city of London welcomes The Breaking-TV film Festival for its annual award ceremony celebrating the best in British and international films, short films, series... from the world's most innovative independent filmmakers.
The Festival welcomes the premiere of the film with a red-carpet event, where invited guests including cast, crew, media and celebs get to watch the movie before anyone else.

The breaking-Tv Film festival is an international film festival with filmmakers and attendees from all over the world celebrating the discovery of hidden talent by recognizing and rewarding the creative work of artists from all over the world.

The breaking TV film festival allows filmmakers to reach a worldwide TV audience and start earning money with their projects.

Via the Breaking-TV Film Festival, the best projects are selected to be showcased on the Breaking-TV network, filmmakers then get paid 50% of the applicable Purchase Price for Titles accessed via Digital Purchase or Digital Rental and 50% of the applicable Purchase Price for Titles accessed via Non-Breaking-TV membership.

For Titles made available for Breaking-TV membership, Breaking-TV will pay you £0.02 per view on a per-title basis (for standalone titles and seasons), based on the number Viewed by customers in the applicable Territory.

HOW DO WE DO IT?
We broadcast our channel to a global audience. We stream our content globally via our website so our viewers can watch and re-watch, anywhere and at anytime with the Breaking-TV membership.

Because great stories change the way we see the world, we dedicate ourselves to showcasing ground breaking films, not found on mainstream platforms, from the worlds most innovative independent filmmakers.

Awards & Prizes

The Award ceremony will take place on the 14th of May 2023 at the Queen's Gate Hall in London, United Kingdom, and also broadcast live. Awards and Trophies will be delivered for:
- Best Film
- Best British Film
- Best Short-Film
- Best British-Short Film
- Best Documentary
- Best Series
- Best Animation
- Best Actress
- Best Actor
- Best Director
- Best Female Director
- Best Supporting Actress
- Best Supporting Actor
- Best Comedy
- Best Horror

Via the Breaking-TV Film Festival, the best projects are selected to be showcased on the Breaking-TV network, filmmakers then get paid 50% of the applicable Purchase Price for Titles accessed via Digital Purchase or Digital Rental and 50% of the applicable Purchase Price for Titles accessed via Non-Breaking-TV membership.

Rules & Terms

Entries are open to both UK and international filmmakers based outside the UK with two separate tiers of submission.
Films must have been completed in the past 5 years.
You can submit your project to more than one category.

Although the festival does not impose any premiere requirement on the filmmakers. The Breaking-TV Film Festival encourages and supports world premiere, UK Premiere and International Premiere at the festival.
An invitation-only screening for family, cast and crew wouldn’t jeopardize the premiere status.

Step 1: First cut
Your project will be evaluated for originality, quality and authenticity to move forward step 2. Your project will also be checked to verify if it is eligible for the festival.

Step 2: Promotion
If your project passes step 1, we will start promoting your project on the Breaking-TV network and on social media.

Step 3: Project in Competition
(At this point you are already eligible to start earning money with your project on the Breaking-TV platform).

Step 4: Official selection
The official selection and nominees 2021-2022.
Your project will be uploaded to the Breaking-TV network. The Breaking-TV audience will be the judges, voting for the projects they like the most: Your project is now in the final running for the winner.

Step 5: Winners announcement

All entries must be in English or contain English subtitles if not in the English language. Non-English entries without subtitles, or supplementary printed translations, can unfortunately not be considered.

The preview format must be a digital online screener. Submit either through a festival submission platform’s internal screener (like FilmFreeway) or via a hosting site like Vimeo. If you are unable/unwilling to use digital submission, please contact us and we’ll work something out.

Shorts must be less than 50 minutes. All projects over 50 minutes should submit to the feature category.
If you are submitting more than one entry, a separate submission is required for each film.
The Breaking-TV Film Festival and The Breaking-TV Network have the right to use a trailer, stills, and posters for promotional purposes.
By submitting to us, you give us consent and the right to screen your film in front of a live audience, and, under special circumstances, online screening and Breaking-TV App.
By submitting to us you agree to our terms and conditions and to receive marketing newsletters and discounts about film festivals in the form of emails. We will never sell your information to third parties.
