The Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival is more than a film screener, it’s an event that unites the best of the horror, thriller, and fantasy films with rock & roll in a big party for moviegoers who love music, and cinema.

Our huge halloween themed pajama party will take place in one of the most interesting and hip locations of Rio de Janeiro: The Cinemateca do MAM - Modern Art Museum, Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim and the Reserva Cultural Niterói.

Nossa grande festa do pijama com ares de halloween acontece nos cenários mais interessantes e pops do nosso Brasil varonil, a cidade maravilhosa: Cinemateca do MAM - Museu de Arte Moderna, Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim e o Reserva Cultural em Niterói.

The Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival only accepts the following genres: Horror, thriller, fantasy, sci-fi, and animation in the formats features, featurettes, shorts, and microshorts in the categories: FEATURES (above 70 min.), FEATURETTES (above 20 min.), SHORTS (above 10 min.), MICRO-SHORTS (bellow 10 min.), DOCUMENTARIES (Any lenght)

THIS IS NOT AN ONLINE FESTIVAL. WE DO NOT ACCEPT FILMS WITHOUT THESE REQUIREMENTS.

EXHIBITION: The Rock Horror in Rio films are screened in cinemas and to ensure the quality, organization and homogeneity of the projections, we only use DCPs (2k, interop, scope or flat). In case, you can't provide us a DCP, we offer the filmmaker exhibition package for pratical reasons and to avoid shipping and taxes costs. For that is necessary to send us a H264 file 1998 x 1018, 24P with stereo or 5.1 sound. We only receive online files up to 10GB. A service charge will be applied for the DCP production. Films that do not respect these rules will be disqualified.

SUBTITLES - All foreign language films must have Brazilian Portuguese subtitles already inserted in the projection file submitted for the DCP production. Obs: All subtitles will be reviewed, if they do not follow the mandatory quality requirements of the festival, they will be rejected. We do not accept subtitles translated by automatic services online. Send us the SRT file to verification before sending the actual screening file. Films that do not respect these rules will be disqualified.

SELECTION - Entry does not guarantee acceptance into the festival. All films will be reviewed by the festival and selected according to the closest characteristics matching the categories. Screenings are scheduled during the Festival at the discretion of the Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival.

WITHDRAWING: Submissions fees WILL NOT be returned.

We accept submissions that have premiered elsewhere and that may have distribution agreements already in place, except if they have been released commercially.

MATERIAL - Incomplete projects are not accepted. The filmmaker accepts to send us, additionally, the trailer of he film to be feature in the official teaser of the festival and a director's video up to 1 minute inviting the public to see his/her film in the festival.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES - Multiple entries are allowed, however a separate entry form must be submitted for each.

SUBMISSIONS - For logistical reasons, we only accept submissions through one of the platforms that the festival is already setup.

PROGRAMMING
The screenings during the festival will be scheduled according to the program defined by the festival organization. The festival guarantees at least one screening of the selected film. Additional screenings are an exclusive decision of the festival organization for organization, public and cinema profile and/or other reasons that are entirely up to the organization.

The festival reserves the right to make changes at any time for any reason. The Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival will not be liable for any costs claimed as a result of a change in scheduling.

No film may be withdrawn from the festival program after its selection.

Filmmakers will be solely responsible for all costs resulting from the submission of the film to the Festival including but not limited to postage or insurance of the film, and expenses of your staff or any representatives of the film.

Producer will indemnify the organisers of the Festival against all claims, demands, costs, damages, expenses (including legal fees), proceedings and losses resulting from the screening of the film at the Festival or from claims by any third parties.

LOSS OR DAMAGE
Although every precaution will be taken to prevent loss or damage to materials while in the possession of the festival, Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival is not responsible should any materials be damaged while in transit to or from, or while in the possession of the festival.

ENTRY LIABILITY
The filmmaker holds the Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival, its management, juries, subsidiaries, agents, sponsors, affiliates, and etc. harmless from any and all claims of liability resulting from entry. The filmmaker certifies to have full rights. Producer will indemnify the organisers of the Festival against all claims, demands, costs, damages, expenses (including legal fees), proceedings and losses resulting from the screening of the film at the Festival or from claims by any third parties.

O Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival aceita apenas filmes dos gêneros: Terror, suspense, fantasia, sci-fi, animação (de qualquer gênero), Experimental, Music Video nos formatos longas, médias, curtas e micro-curtas nas categorias: LONGAS (acima de 70 min.), MÉDIAS (acima de 20 min.), CURTAS (acima de 10 min.), MICRO-CURTAS (abaixo de 10 min.), DOCUMENTÁRIOS (Qualquer metragem)

ESSE NÃO É UM FESTIVAL ONLINE. NÃO ACEITAMOS FILMES QUE NÃO CUMPRAM ESSAS EXIGÊNCIAS.

EXIBIÇÃO - O Rock Horror in Rio acontece em salas de cinema e para garantir a qualidade, organização e homogeneidade das projeções só exibimos em DCP (2k, interop, scope ou flat). Caso você não possa fornecer um DCP, oferecemos o pacote de exibição por razões de praticidade e para evitar despesas com envio e taxas. Para isso, é necessário nos enviar um arquivo H264 1998 x 1080, 24P, som stereo ou 5.1. Só recebemos arquivos online até 10GB. Uma taxa de serviço será aplicada para a produção do DCP. Filmes que não respeitarem as regras de exibição, serão desclassificados.

LEGENDAS - Todos os filmes em língua estrangeira devem conter legendas em português (Brasileiro) já inseridas no arquivo de vídeo que nos será enviado para a produção do DCP que produziremos para exibir o filme. Obs: Todas as legendas serão checadas, caso não sigam o padrão de qualidade exigido pelo festival, as mesmas serão rejeitadas. Não aceitamos legendas traduzidas através de serviços automáticos online. Enviar o arquivo SRT para prévia avaliação antes de enviar o arquivo de projeção. Filmes que não respeitarem as regras de legendas, serão desclassificados.

SELEÇÃO - A inscrição não garante aceitação no festival. Todos os filmes passarão pelo processo de curadoria do festival e serão selecionados e programados de acordo com a discrição dos organizadores.

DESISTÊNCIAS - Submissões NÃO SERÃO devolvidas.

INEDITISMO - Aceitamos submissões de filmes que já foram exibidos previamente e que já tenham contratos de distribuição, desde que ainda não tenham sido exibidos comercialmente.

MATERIAL - Projetos incompletos não serão aceitos. O cineasta concorda em nos enviar, adicionalmente, o vídeo do trailer do filme para incluirmos trechos no clip official do festival e um vídeo de até 1 minuto do diretor convidando o público para seu filme no festival.

INSCRIÇÕES MÚLTIPLAS - Inscrições múltiplas são permitidas, contudo, cada filme deve ser submetido separadamente.

MÉTODO DE INSCRIÇÃO - Por questões de logística, apenas serão aceitas inscrições efetuadas através de uma das plataformas em que o festival se encontra.

A data limite para a inscrição encerra no dia 6 de junho de 2020.
Observe as instruções de inscrição e envio de material e as exigências de exibição para os filmes selecionados. Filmes que não cumpram com as regras de envio de material poderão ser retirados da competição, mesmo depois de selecionados.

PROGRAMAÇÃO

As exibições durante o Festival serão agendadas de acordo com a programação definida pela organização do festival. O festival garante pelo menos uma exibição do filme selecionado, exibições adicionais são de decisão exclusiva da organização do festival por motivos de organização, perfil do público, cinemas e ou outros motivos que competem apenas à organização.

O festival reserva o direito de mudar a data das exibições ou horários por motivo de força maior, se necessário. O Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival não se responsabiliza por nenhum custo de terceiros, resultante com a mudança do cronograma.

Nenhum filme pode ser retirado do programa do festival após sua seleção.

Os cineastas são os únicos responsáveis por todos os custos resultantes da submissão de seu filme ao Festival, incluindo, mas não limitado a despesas de envio, seguro do filme e despesas de qualquer representante do filme relativas a viagens ou afins, pelo comparecimento ao festival.

Produtores indenizarão os organizadores do Festival contra quaisquer reclamações, disputas, custos, danos, despesas (incluindo honorários legais), processos e perdas resultantes da exibição do filme no Festival ou reinvindicações de terceiros relativas ao mesmo.

PERDA OU DANO

Embora toda precaução será tomada para evitar a perda ou dano dos materiais, enquanto, em posse do festival, o Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival não é responsável caso qualquer um dos materiais seja danificado em trânsito ou enquanto estiver em posse do festival.

RESPONSABILIDADE DA PARTICIPAÇÃO

O cineasta libera o Rock Horror in Rio Film Festival, seus dirigentes, jurados, subsidiários, agentes, patrocinadores, afiliados, e etc. de toda e qualquer reivindicação de responsabilidade resultante de sua participação no festival. O cineasta/produtor garante que detêm todos os direitos de exibição da obra. Produtores indenizarão os organizadores do Festival contra quaisquer reclamações, disputas, custos, danos, despesas (incluindo honorários legais), processos e perdas resultantes da exibição do filme no Festival ou reivindicações de terceiros relativas ao mesmo.
