Director's Biography
Mayank is an independent filmmaker and cinematographer based out of Mumbai. He started with theatre, gained exposure to direction, and gradually moved to making short films.
He has seen the diversity as he was born and brought up in a small town, educated in a city, and worked in a metro.
Deeply intrigued by human behavior and philosophy of life, he is eager to gain knowledge, go deeper in imagination, explore and tell the stories.
Director's Statement
It started during the lockdown. "Indian Film and Television Director's Association" came with "Indoors short film contest" where one had to make short film within four walls.
Initially, I thought of writing some creepy, sci-fi, or thriller film as my two earlier shorts are of a similar genre.
Then I chose to write a drama. I have seen lives living all alone when they desperately need someone to accompany, to take care of.
With a team of three, we made this short film. I am sure you will find the protagonist "Sanjay" in society near you. It is the harsh reality of today's life when kids abandon parents in search of material things.
