Director's Statement

I am a computer animation student graduating from Ringling College of Art and Design in May 2022.
Personally, art is from life but also beyond life. It is a path to a beautiful world, a fantasy. I desire to be a creative artist, then share my creations and happiness with others. I hope to continue doing this as my career.
I started getting interested in art when I was a child. Most children like to draw or paint something on paper, or the wall, but I continued to draw and paint as I grew older. My interest in art became my passion. I have infinite energy and inexhaustible patience for drawing and painting. When I was in middle school, I was not only satisfied with the traditional arts but also wanted to try something new that related to modern technology, such as digital art. I started to learn theoretical knowledge of digital drawing online. Then I was attracted by a special form of art, animation. With my self-study, I discovered that animation contains many things, such as concept art, sketch, design, 3D model, etc. It magnified my interest and led me to see it as my future career. Therefore I came to Ringling College of Art and Design which has the top computer animation major.
The central idea of my artwork is to explore multiple themes for my animated film. In my opinion, art is from everywhere in my life, including my culture, my community, and my ideas or opinions on something. So I love to collect ideas and inspirations from everyday life. But I also think that my art should be beyond life. Thus I combine my ideas from life with my imagination and fantasy. I also love to animate my characters to see how they come to life. I hope the viewers can feel the meaning and emotions that I proved through my works when they are looking at my film.
Briefly, art is an important part of my life. I will continue developing my techniques and I hope I can present my idea of art to the world.
