Director's Biography
Ng Zhen Hao is a director, writer, editor, and director of photography based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has made numerous short student films and short documentaries since 2018. One of his notable achievements is a short film called Spectre (2019), it won the People's Choice Award and was placed 2nd at his college, Inti Film Festival 2019. Zhen Hao has also experienced working on numerous professional commercial sets as a production assistant and casting director trainee in the year 2020. He believes that working with professionals will equip him with more knowledge and get better at making films bigger than his previous ones no matter how many sleepless nights there are. While working on Caffeinated Killer, Zhen Hao has also been writing screenplays of short films planned for the future alongside his team at Film Major Productions (FMP), an independent production company that he and his college friends created. Zhen Hao is currently working on another short film called The Idealist with FMP that is currently in pre-production as the director of photography. The Idealist's production is planned to begin in 2022.

Ng Zhen Hao's statement
"When I first read the script of Caffeinated Killer, I wanted to show the harsh reality of the environment around us. Be it alleys, streets, parking lots, anywhere as I am very drawn to this theory that environments can shape a person's character. I wanted to portray claustrophobia - what's it like being a small lone ranger in a place that is so vast of space?
Denis Villeneuve's films have always been my inspiration for the vision of Caffeinated Killer. His films such as Blade Runner 2049, Sicario, and Prisoners help me to indulge myself in the scenes with the characters. That's what I was going for when making Caffeinated Killer, to invite anyone watching the film to be "present" in the environment on it."
