The SICKEN is best compared to The Conjuring series with a similar tone and style. The SICKEN is very much a character driven psychological horror. The ending was written to set up 2 sequel opportunities. One with Ruby Spade and the other with Father Romano.

It began almost 90 years ago, In 1933, in Batesville, Mississippi. A timeless evil found a home in fanatical religious leader, Jonah Cage. He calls for the “End of Days” and kills all 108 of his followers. Today, the evil awakens, as promises made are not kept, and Ruby Spade and her family find themselves in the middle. The evil rises and brings Jonah Cage and his followers to do its bidding. Those who seek to destroy the church and uproot the land will pay. It’s an evil so pervasive that the Church of Rome sends its best, Father Joseph Romano, to Batesville.

Through a conservatorship, Ruby was granted control of the land where Jonah’s old church stands, the refuge of this ravenous evil. However, there are others who have plans for the land. A greedy Mayor and a thug Sheriff plan to build luxury condos. Now, Ruby finds herself between the evil that threatens her family and the Mayor and Sheriff who want to destroy the old church and repurpose the land.

Ruby’s weakness is her two daughters, and the evil will take full advantage. In the end, it will be a mother’s love for her children against an evil born of pure hate. Is love stronger than hate? Or will Ruby succumb to the power of the nine hells? In the end, it’s a mother’s love for her children that will be tested.

The SICKEN’s biggest appeal will be for its well-developed and rounded characters as well as for its well-crafted “on the edge of your seat” scenes.

Director's Biography

I'd like to wish everyone the best in their endeavors and I hope you find success in whatever form that comes in.

Writing is one of two loves in my life that I have an absolute passion for. Creative writing blended with creative thinking. Emotion blended with logic. Capturing human experiences in words that invoke an emotional response from the reader.

I have worked at and created content for over 30 years from songwriting, creating online websites and content, TV commercials, and writing TV script and screenplays. I am a successful businessman and own and operate a highly successful internet and media business. Understanding complex cost structures and the details of business is integral to any project, creative writing and scripts are no exception.

I began my creative energy in music at the age of 7, when I got my first guitar. At the age of 16, I began writing and recording songs. I continued to do so for almost 15 years. I majored in English at the University of Calgary and have applied my writing skills in a number of areas, including creative, business, and online content. I founded BRAVADA International in 2007, an internet and media company located in Los Angeles.

As a successful businessman, I understand creative writing is as much an art as it is a business. Everything must have a business case that makes sense. TV is no different. The end product must be compelling and inspire emotional investment to become successful and that means multi-dimensional characters and a gripping story filled with mystery, suspense, and the human experience.

Unique traits: Escaped communist Czechoslovakia when the Soviet Union army invaded during the Prague Spring. I am grateful for my mother and father to have the courage to flee to Vancouver.
