An aspiring actor has to overcome a number of hurdles, in order to become successful in TV and film.

1.      The film industry is highly competitive. There are tons of talented actors vying for a relatively small number of roles.

2.      There can be long stretches between gigs, so financial stability can be a challenge.

3.      Actors often need to build a resume through smaller roles, independent films, or even student film projects to catch the eye of casting directors. It becomes difficult to break through, otherwise.

4.      Rejection is a huge part of the acting game. Actors often face rejection at auditions, which can be emotionally draining.

5.      There can be pressure to conform to certain beauty standards for certain roles. This can be frustrating for actors who don't fit the mold.

6.      Understanding things like agents, managers, and contracts is important as there is a complex business side to this creative dream.
