Quentin Tarantino Announces Film History Book 'Cinema Speculation
Despite the fact that Quentin Tarantino has yet to disclose plans for his final film, cinephiles may expect new material from the “Pulp Fiction” director this fall. Tarantino is working on a new book about cinema history called “Cinema Speculation,” which will be released on October 25th, according to his publisher HarperCollins.
Tarantino has always been interested in writing books. He’s always stated that he plans to retire from filmmaking after completing ten films (he’s now on his ninth), and that writing books will be a way for him to stay creative once he’s no longer behind the camera. He just published a novel based on his film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” which we scored an enthusiastic B+ in our review.
Tarantino previously stated that he was working on a separate novel about a WWII veteran who goes home and seeks sanctuary in overseas movies after no longer reacting to Hollywood after his ordeal.
Tarantino stated of his other future novel, “I’ve got this character who was in World War II and experienced a lot of bloodsheds there.” “And now he’s back home, and it’s like the 1950s, and he’s no longer interested in movies.” After what he’s been through, he finds them infantile. As far as he’s concerned, Hollywood films are just that: films. So he starts hearing about these foreign films by Akira Kurosawa and Federico Fellini all of a sudden.”

However, fans discovered that the book was the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” novel and that the returning veteran character who finds a home at the arthouse is none other than Cliff Booth, who was played by Brad Pitt in the film. Pitt earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the film.
On October 25, 2022, “Cinema Speculation” will be released in bookstores.
