“BadBoo: An Olfactory Offense” is a humorous take on a couple of aspects of the sensory experience of India, particularly olfactory pollution and public urination. The film makes a lighthearted case for using public restrooms, keeping those restrooms clean and pleasant, avoiding unnecessary chemical pollution, and being grateful to those doing the work of keeping our environment clean.
Superhero JedEye JypsyJays is working out to ensure she is strong and prepared for when her next mission presents itself. Suddenly she is hit by a horrendous stench, and with that she finds her mission for the day.
JedEye JypsyJays finds some men urinating in a public space right outside some uncomfortably malodorous public restrooms. She immediately gets to work on her quest to make her city a cleaner and more pleasant place.

Director's Biography
I was born in India and grew up in the USA. I am a practicing physician by profession, a performing artist by obsession, an incidental writer, and a yogini by nature. While I am board certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, as well as Family and Community Medicine, and have a graduate degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Environmental Health Sciences, I specialize in listening, kindness, and humor.
Whenever I visit India, I cannot help but notice the intense variety of sensory stimuli in everyday life - visual, auditory, thermal, and olfactory. I decided to make this film because I was seeing advertisements for chemical air fresheners that were sending a message that Indians should feel ashamed of smells associated with traditional activities, such as the fragrance of frying spices, or the aroma of incense, and instead should try to mask those scents with chemical air fresheners. This film is a gentle slam against the culture shaming by these chemical air freshener ads, as well as a clear request to men to urinate in the privacy of a restroom, with a nod to the laborers who clean the streets of India.
