Director's Biography
This is my first documentary film as a director/producer. It’s a self-funded independent film I studied Motion Picture Photography (PG) at the prestigious Satyajit ray film & television institute (SRFTI), Kolkata, India, in 2000. I trained to shoot on celluloid but was an early adopter of digital video technology, which has become so prevalent today, since then I am working in the Indian film industry along with many International collaborations ( BBC, NHK-Japan, CCTV-China, Film Division, NFDC, etc). I shot movies, commercials, and documentaries around the world and with very unique Indian directors like Buddhadeb Dasgupta and Ketan Mehta, Sujit Sircar, and R Balki.
I got a nomination for best cinematography in documentary films at, Madrid international film festival 2015.
I received the 6th Assam state film award 2015 – best cinematography.
Director's Statement
