A neighborhood bar like any other? ... anchored in front
to the Municipal Morgue, The Laboratory immerses us in the
last days of a heroic place of belonging, with its
characters and situations, their rites, their antidotes and their minstrel
resistance to progress and loneliness.
Founded shortly after the 2001 Argentine crisis, and
called at that time: "El Corralito", it knew how to host
and ferment in its 16 years of harvest, an archetype
varietal of a neighborhood that is mutating, and perhaps,
disappearing.
The Pool Raiser, the taba, the soda siphon, The
Carmencita, the sharpener, the hare to the disk, the last supper, the
toast, and the moving of the counter, along with a
unreleased song are the closing of the gate of a place in
extinction and the photographic aperitif that
this unique documentary record invites us.
