TUTOPIQUE or The Art of creating Utopian Tutorials

After all "fucking news" in the world, I decide to develop an independent series of wonderful short utopian tutorials and silly little tricks to learn how to imagine a less paradoxical and awfully happier humanity. To get rid of what royally pisses us off!

My intention, with TUTOPIQUE short films, is to produce absurd pseudo-tutorials that denounce, through irony and self-mockery, the paradoxes of social life, politics, consumer society, leisure, collapse, social network, fake-news, behaviors, emotions,...

My artistic point of vue is in a minimalist style, silly, shifted, grating, ironic, slapstick, ridiculous, clumsy, cheeky, grotesque, pamphleteer but non-violent (almost), politically incongruous, maverick, satirical ( almost potache), atypical,... In short, something that stings.

TUTOPIQUE short films series attempts to subvert the mainstream conventions of narrative structure and characterization, and tests the audience's suspension of disbelief.

Maurice Huvelin was born in Paris. He graduated from Orléans Art School, where he is now a professor. Since 1985 he has been an indie producer and maker of particular, nonsensical and poetic movies. His films and series have been awarded at international festivals and screened on European TV.
