April Dolkar is a visual artist and writer, born in Chicago. She has exhibited in New Zealand for 16 years, and Miami for 10, before settling in New Mexico in 2013.

Dolkar created her first music videos in 2018-2019. She received her BFA in painting & photography from Florida International University, and studied traditional Tibetan iconography in Boulder with Terris Temple, Dharmsala with Jampa Tseten and in New York with Pema Wangyal.

A Tibet advocate, she integrates Tibetan symbolism into her work; and is currently a Director of the Tsechen Namdrol Ling Buddhist Center in Santa Fe.

April Dolkar / Samdhyabasa Productions: Twilight-language visual imagery, bespeaks of freedom, potentiality and anarchy, the power of fearlessness and positive aspiration. Strangely subconscious, indirect in an intentional way and punctuated with signifiers, narrative plucked from time, runs neither backwards nor forwards, with non-linear switches of fullness, emptiness, time & space.
