Desde el 2019 Yukasa, la primera casa feminista del Quindío, realiza el Festival Cine o Yuka de Mujeres LBTIQ* Defendiendo sus Derechos con el objetivo de promover la creación desde las experiencias de vida de mujeres diversas y generar espacios de proyección, encuentro, diálogo e incidencia en el departamento a través del audiovisual.

En la primera edición del festival trabajamos alrededor de la temática Siempre Visibles Nunca Invisibles, en la segunda edición, Visibles en Comunidad. Y para esta tercera versión, será Devenir Lesbica, que busca retratar las diferentes formas de ser lesbiana en ciudades pequeñas e intermedias, donde no hay muchos referentes estéticos ni amorosos o de construcción de proyectos de vida por fuera del clóset y donde se acude a distintas estrategias para sobrevivir en los márgenes de la sexualidad. Conocemos antes las palabras machorra y marimacho como insulto, después nos autodenominamos gays y por último nos reconocemos lesbianas.

La equipa organizadora del 3° Festival Cine o Yuka, invita a mujeres lesbianas, areperas, machorras, envíen sus creaciones audiovisuales sean o no realizadoras profesionales o expertas. Se recibirá material creado en distintos formatos y géneros, producciones de carácter abstracto, filminutos, videos de celular, serie web, performances y otros experimentos de creación audiovisual, que no superen los 60 minutos y que traten la temática de esta edición: Devenir Lésbica.

Since 2019 Yukasa, the first feminist house of Quindío, has been holding the Cine o Yuka Festival of LBTIQ Women Defending their Rights with the aim of promoting creation from the life experiences of diverse women and generating spaces for projection, encounter, dialogue and advocacy in the department through audiovisual works.

In the first edition of the festival we worked around the theme Always Visible Never Invisible, in the second edition it was Visible in Community. And for this third version, it will be Devenir Lesbica, which seeks to portray the different ways of being a lesbian in small and intermediate cities, where there are not many aesthetic or love references or construction of life projects outside the closet, and where people resort to different strategies to survive in the margins of sexuality. We are used to know the words butch and dyke as an insult, then we called ourselves gay and finally we recognized ourselves as lesbians.

The organizing team of the 3rd Festival Cine o Yuka, invites lesbians, butch and dyke womxn to send their audiovisual creations, whether or not they are professional or expert filmmakers. We will receive material created in different formats and genres, abstract productions, short films, cell phone videos, web series, performances and other audiovisual creation experiments, which do not exceed 60 minutes and that deal with the theme of this edition: Devenir Lesbica.
