Biography

Lucas Spolzino is an Italian-Brazilian professional film composer, lyric baritone, pianist, and percussionist.

He holds a degree in Law but works exclusively in audiovisual composition and music production. His musical education is the result of substantial private tuition (classical singing, piano, drums, music theory, classical orchestration, and music history). However, his professionalism as a composer comes from numerous online courses. Among these courses, notable ones include those offered by Filipe Leitao (professor at Virginia Commonwealth University) and Master The Score.

With Filipe Leitao, Lucas studied "Film Score: Music For the Eyes," where he learned everything from the basics of MIDI orchestration to the complexities of screen synchronisation, as well as the structuring of all cinematic genres (action, comedy, suspense, drama, etc). With Master The Score, he studied "Pillars of Composition" with Ryan Leach, "20th Century Orchestral Writing" with Mattia Chiappa, and "Mixing Cinematic Music" with Joël Dollié. Thus, he has a solid foundation regarding the demands of the audiovisual industry.

Maestro Spolzino has mastery over a wide variety of musical styles. His influences range from classical music (Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss, and Richard Wagner) to video game soundtracks (Jeremy Soule, Inon Zur, and Bear McCreary), and, of course, film scores (John Williams, Howard Shore, and John Powell). His composition style leans more towards orchestral virtuosity, but he also has experience in more popular genres such as Jazz, Blues, Rock, and Heavy Metal.
