R. Todd Stevens

Todd was born in Nurnburg, Germany and he and his family moved to America, Ohio in particular, when he was six years old. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema from Denison University in 1985, Todd moved to Los Angeles where he worked on the feature film, “Zombie High,” a CBS movie-of-the-week and a music video for the band, Toto. Todd missed the beauty of the seasons and down-to-earth nature of the mid-West, so he returned to Ohio and worked as a Video Editor for the News Department of WBNS 10-TV, the local CBS affiliate. After six years of meeting tight deadlines, Todd shifted gears again and moved to Annapolis, MD to work as an Audio-Visual Manager with Total AV, a Video Conferencing Specialist with ExxonMobile in Fairfax, VA, as an Audio-Visual Specialist with the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C. and most recently, Todd spent 9 years as an Audio-Visual Coordinator and Creative Services Branch Manager at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.

Todd brings his inquisitive nature, love of people and life, and ability to see beauty, truth, and essence in all things to a new level in his films. Raised by an artistic mother, Todd feels her guidance and his love for the cinema have been a great influence on his work. “There are certain filmic masterpieces which have, and always will, profoundly affect me. Todd feels that knowing how to properly light, frame and focus a scene is the first step. The "magic" happens after that.

Todd is also an accomplished photographer having exhibited his works in Baltimore, MD, Annapolis, MD and Granville, Ohio. His current documentary film project, “Crownsville Hospital: From Lunacy to Legacy,” was completed in May, 2018 and has since been accepted into over 49 national as well as international film festivals and has been the recipient of 20 awards. Todd’s production company, Ingo Films, was started in 2015 and currently has 4 projects in various stages of production.
