Biography

Fabrizio Prada was born in Louvain, Belgium, July, 11th, 1972.
At age four, he moved to Mexico with his parents: art historian Elda Rojas Aldunate and the prestigious Bolivian writer, double Ph.D., Renato Prada Oropeza, whom two decades later, became his usual co-screenwriter.
In 1991 he directed his first short film: El final de la ruta, based on a short story written by his father.
From 1993 to 1995, he studied at the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, specializing in Film Direction. His school documentary film Soy un niño todavía participated in more than fifty international film festivals, winning in most of them, prizes and special mentions.
Since he returned to Mexico, he directed about twenty independent short Films, and shot on digital video weeks after this technology appeared.
In 2002, legendary film actor Hugo Stiglitz supported him to produce his first feature: Tiempo Real (Real Time). It was this movie the very one that brought him a new Guinness World Records™ category, being the first movie in film history to have been filmed as one long sequence without any camera cuts: an 86 minutes sequence shot winner of the One-Take Film Festival in Croatia and the International Non-Budget Film Festival in Cuba.
Besides his career as a director and producer the Bolivian film Dí buen día a papá was his debut as an actor, playing the role of “Fabrizio”, character specially created for him: a Mexican student who goes to Che Guevara’s death commemoration and tries to makes advances toward a Swedish girl who is also a part of the caravan.
In 2008, his comedy Chiles Xalapeños (Jalapeño Chili Peppers) broke all the records by becoming the Mexican film most sold in the piracy black market before its release. Millions of copies of Chiles Xalapeños were sold around the country with ten different covers.
From 2012, he directs the World Film Festival of Veracruz, held in the City and Port of Veracruz, event specialized in non-budget and contemporary films from all around the world.
