Ozark Actress Honoured by Boulder International Film Festival

 

In March, the Boulder International Film Festival will welcome film actress Laura Linney, who has starred in Netflix series "Ozark," the beloved Christmas romantic comedy film  ,Love Actually (2003), and the 90s psychological comedy film, The Truman Show, to get the festival's Vanguard Award.

 

On March 2, Linney will be present at the local premiere of her latest film, Wildcat, and she will speak with BIFF interviewer Ron Bostwick following the film screening. The film festival is going to take place at Boulder's Boulder Theater, located at 2032 14th St.


Directed by film star Ethan Hawke, "Wildcat" features Laura Linney in the role of Regina, the mother of Southern Gothic writer Flannery O’Connor. The narrative delves into O’Connor’s challenges in publishing a novel while grappling with a lupus diagnosis at the young age of 24, prompting her to explore the intricacies of her writing and faith.

 

With a career spanning three decades, the 60-year-old Linney has showcased her acting prowess on both stage and silver screen. Notable performances include portraying Wendy Byrde in "Ozark," earning her acclaim with film award nominations such as Emmy and Screen Actors Guild awards. Additionally, she played Meryl Burbank in The Truman Show
and took on the role of Abigail Adams in the HBO series John Adams. Linney's accolades include a SAG award, two Golden Globe Awards, and four Emmy Awards. The Boulder International Film Festival is set to celebrate Linney's remarkable contributions to the audio-visual industry.
