The DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, as one of leading international documentary film festivals in Asia, aims to provide opportunities for growing Korean and Asian documentary filmmakers to have a field that cineastes and audience together celebrate the festival through documentaries promoting peace, life and communication.

Awards & Prizes

International Competition:

White Goose Award with a cash prize of KRW 15,000,000 and the Special Jury Award with a cash prize of KRW 7,000,000.
Asian Competition:

Asian Perspective Award with a cash prize of KRW 10,000,000.

Korean Competition:

Best Korean Documentary Award with a cash prize of KRW 10,000,000 and Special Jury Award with a cash prize of KRW 5,000,000.

Shorts Competition

DMZ Shorts Award with a cash prize of KRW 5,000,000.
Asia Development Foundation Award

two cash prizes of KRW 5,000,000 for feature and for shorts films (1 per category) dealing with the subject of Korean/Asian Culture and multi-cultural society
Audience Award

A cash prize of KRW 3,000,000 given to the film rated highest in average by the audience of the International, Asian and Korean Competition.
