This story is about a young man with a cherished dream of becoming a famous filmmaker, about a war tragedy that disrupted plans, a serious illness and a depressive slide to the social bottom. It is about overcoming, transforming and eventually fulfilling a cherished dream.

SYNOPSIS

This story is about a Muscovite Georgy Abaev, who dreamed of becoming a famous film director since childhood and shooting a film that will win the main prize at a prestigious international film festival.
Georgy, a student of the directing faculty of the VGIK named after S. A. Gerasimov, accidentally falls into disgrace with the master of the course Gleb Glebovich and goes for military service in the Army, gets to serve in a special purpose unit of the GRU.
George's place of service will be the Syrian Arab Republic. In one of the battles, George is seriously wounded, as a result, he goes completely blind.
The moral overcoming of a physical illness and the return to a normal life become difficult for George, associated with vicissitudes. His beloved girl Lisa, with whom George studied together, was waiting for him from the army, but after suffering a severe injury, she realizes that she is not ready to shoulder the burden of dedication to a disabled person.
Blind George, standing at the edge of the abyss, is being tested in an emergency situation already in peaceful life, shows courage in saving children in a fire.
The desire for a full-fledged life, to stay in the profession, the participation and mentoring of the former master of the course Gleb Glebovich, the promise of the realization of a cherished dream mobilize George to work and high creative achievements.
George moves from the director's studio to the playwrights' workshop, writes the script for the film "The story of the rescue of a Syrian family by the Russian military", which was awarded the prize of the Venice Film Festival.
