Rebeltech Collective is a Singapore-based creative technology collective working across artificial intelligence, engineering, robotics, software development, documentary filmmaking, FPV drone cinematography, education, and emerging technologies.

Rather than operating within a single creative or technical discipline, Rebeltech Collective develops projects where engineering, filmmaking, field production, software, robotics, and artificial intelligence can influence one another. Its work includes documentary films, original productions, technology experiments, hardware projects, field expeditions, educational initiatives, creator workflows, and cross-disciplinary collaborations across Southeast Asia.

Every project is driven by curiosity, experimentation, and real-world execution. Technology is not treated as the destination or used simply because it is new. It is tested, deployed, adapted, and integrated when it strengthens the project, solves a problem, expands a production workflow, or helps communicate a human story.

This approach frequently takes Rebeltech Collective beyond conventional studios and offices. Its projects have been developed in coffee-growing regions, remote communities, active volcanic environments, islands, mountains, and other challenging locations where technology, filmmaking, logistics, and human experience must operate together in real conditions.

The collective’s flagship documentary, KOPI – The Human Journey Behind Your Coffee, represents its AI-human hybrid filmmaking methodology. The production combines real-world documentary filmmaking, original FPV drone cinematography, field research, human narration, and generative AI within a unified creative workflow.

Rather than creating a documentary through prompts alone, the Rebeltech Collective team travelled across Indonesia to document coffee farmers, families, communities, landscapes, and culture firsthand. Artificial intelligence was introduced after the real journey had been documented, allowing the filmmakers to extend the documentary’s visual language while keeping the film grounded in actual people, places, environments, and experiences.

Through KOPI, Rebeltech Collective explores an approach to AI-human hybrid filmmaking in which artificial intelligence does not replace documentary reality. Instead, AI becomes one component within a wider production methodology built from fieldwork, cinematography, engineering, research, experimentation, and human creative judgement.

Beyond filmmaking, Rebeltech Collective works with technology companies, creators, tourism organisations, educational institutions, and industry partners. Its activities include emerging-technology testing, field deployment, creative research, robotics, software experimentation, technical storytelling, talks, workshops, and educational sessions.

Rebeltech Collective believes the future of creative technology will not be defined by one discipline, one tool, or artificial intelligence alone. It will be shaped by people capable of moving between engineering, filmmaking, technology, business, education, and real-world experience—and using those disciplines together to build something meaningful.

This film is a documentary-AI hybrid, a creative experiment born from our desire to push the boundaries of traditional storytelling. We used AI not as a gimmick, but as an essential tool to visualize the data, processes, and interconnected systems that are often invisible to the average consumer. We believe that by marrying the cold logic of AI with the warm, rich narratives of coffee farmers, roasters, and baristas, we can reveal the full picture of what it takes to get coffee from farm to cup.
