Statement

Logline:Awaaz
Two voice-over artists, recording the same script in different languages, confront the silent battles in their lives and rediscover their voices, both literally and metaphorically.
Synopsis:
The film is a metaphorical exploration of life’s struggles and the ways we navigate them. Since time immemorial, truth-seekers have been silenced—whether by those in power or by their own inability to tap into their inner strength and happiness.
Set in the world of the voice-over industry, the story follows two individuals—a male actor and a female ex-banker—who symbolize the Yin and Yang, the arts and the corporate world, in modern India. In a country where job seekers are often reduced to servitude and traditional societal norms still weigh heavily on women, these two characters find themselves trapped in lives that have muted their true selves.
They record a voice-over script—ironically, with a microphone in front of them, a tool historically used to amplify change and challenge oppression. Yet, their work serves only as a means to survive. The script they record becomes a mirror to their lives, reminding them of their suppressed voices and the world they’ve adapted to accept.
This moment sparks a journey of self-reflection and awakening. Whether by reclaiming self-respect or embracing joy, the time has come for them to unmute their inner selves and live authentically.
