Gianpaolo Saccomano is a journalist and writer specialized in mystery and para-scientific topics. Even if suffering from a serious genetic disease, he has published novels and essays and currently collaborates with some specialized publications such as "XTimes" and "Sussurrandom" and writes columns on true crime. He made his debut as a comic book writer and then also tried his hand at screenwriting and directing films. In 2010 he made a short film entitled “Malo Momento”, focusing on the issues of gambling addiction and organ trafficking. He then shot the docufilm “Lovecraft's Secret Italy” in 2017, followed by the esoteric thriller “Saturnales” (which later also became a novel). The docu-thriller "Nero fiorentino aka Florence in Black" is from 2020, focusing on the figure of the terrible serial killer "Monster of Florence". All his cinematographic works have been broadcast on Italian TV, except Florence in Black which is still unreleased. He then filmed “The Witch of Baratti” which tells the parallel lives of a modern-day doctor and a probable witch who lived in the village of Baratti in the 13th century and was executed by the Inquisition. He currently has the film “DO YOU LIKE POE?” in production. which is inspired by two famous stories by the master of mystery fiction E.A. POE and pays homage to the film “Two evil eyes” directed by George A. Romero and Dario Argento in 1990.
