Although I always knew my heart was set on filmmaking, my journey to get here has been quite the rollercoaster. I trudged through a rather dull management degree, enduring lectures on business economics and statistics. Then came a series of internships and five years of freelancing as a motion designer, editor, and writer. But eventually, I mustered up the courage to take a leap of faith and apply for the animation master's degree at the Master Institute of Visual Cultures at AKV St. Joost.
Looking back, I realize I never took the direct route, likely out of fear of failure – a fear that ironically becomes the central theme of my graduation film, "Towards the Roar."
