Sead Šabotić, director and screenwriter, was born in Nikšić, Montenegro. He enrolled in and graduated from the Film and TV Directing Department at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Montenegro, where he also completed his specialist postgraduate studies, specializing in Documentary Film. After completing his specialist studies, he pursued and obtained a master's degree at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad. He is an alumnus of the EX-Oriente Film Workshop, the Talents Sarajevo program, and the Talents Tehran program at the Fajr International Film Festival, as well as the Beldocs Academy program.
Šabotić has directed several short documentaries and fiction films, as well as feature-length documentaries, including *Twins Woven from Dreams* and *A Family for a Limited Time*. His films have been screened worldwide at film festivals and other film events, where they have also won awards. He currently works as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts. He served as the selector for the Documentary Competition Program at the Herceg Novi – Montenegro Film Festival in 2022 and 2023 and is part of the selection team for the 71st Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival – the March Festival. Additionally, he is a member of the editorial board of the culture magazine *Odzivi*.
