Shashwat Ghatak, a film enthusiast from childhood, is a storyteller whose cinematic perspective fosters unity and emotion. Rooted in Indian culture, his films celebrate the subtle nuances that catalyze societal change, promoting harmony through impactful narratives.
A graduate of Mithibai College, Mumbai, Shashwat further honed his passion by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in filmmaking, television, and new media from Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Arts, Science, and Commerce.
His empathetic writing style uniquely captures human relationships, portraying characters reflective of everyday encounters. Shashwat's filmography includes three award-winning short films:
1. "Back Pocket" - Available on Airtel Xtream, Hungama Play, and Shorted. Officially selected in the 'Student World Impact Film Festival 2023.'
2. "Wireless" - Streaming on Shorted, with an honorable mention in the 'Student World Impact Film Festival 2023.'
3. "Unsolved" - Award winner at the '2 11 17 International Film Festival' and officially selected in the 'Shortfundly Annual Film Festival (SFAFF) 2024.'
Notable works also include directing an award-winning short film at the 'Indian Film Festival 2020 (Top 100 Films 2020)' and the music video "Tum Mil Gaye." Shashwat showcased his versatility by directing an Ad film for "Cadbury 5 Star" during his college tenure, in addition to serving as an Art Assistant for the film "Dramayama" featuring Darsheel Safary.
