Director’s Statement
Ndazkoh is a film born from determination, community, and the belief that our stories matter. We made this documentary with no funding, no grants, and no outside influence—just a crew of three and the unwavering support of a small but powerful community. It took us four years, and every step was fueled by love, respect, and a shared vision.
This film is proof that when we come together on our own terms, we can create something meaningful. Our 100% selection rate is not just a number—it’s a testament to what’s possible when you don’t wait for permission. I’m proud of what we’ve done, and I hope Ndazkoh inspires others to tell their own stories, in their own way.
Never let anyone tell you that you can’t.
—Tracey Cochrane, Director
