About

Tired of getting your project rejected at festivals? Many festivals accept more than 2,000 entries and only select about 10 projects. Your chance at those festivals is less than 0.5%. That's why we created Carpe Diem.

Why?

For many years we have done the festival circuit and we know how important it is for independent filmmakers to get nominations or awards to make a name for themselves in the industry. We also know that most projects are self-funded and the budget for festivals is very limited. We have very low prices and we limit the number of registrations so that you have more opportunities. We do not have the festival listed for 12 months to get the maximum number of entries, we limit the entries to three months so that you have many more opportunities to be nominated.

There are categories in which we receive between 5 and 10 entries, so your project goes from having a probability of 0.5% to a probability greater than 10-20%.

We also have many specific categories and we will organize a very fun festival. And of course free to the public so that the maximum number of spectators can attend.

How does it work?
We are not like other festivals that nominate many projects and then only give one winner. We give a winner for each category every three months. The best projects from the festival will then be screened at our live event.

Event:
In order to maintain very low fees, we organize events in collaboration with different film clubs in Barcelona and the region of Catalonia.
They are small events but where a very select public attends. Film journalists, film experts and university professors. We also try to reach the younger audience, which is why we also collaborate with schools and institutions in the city.

Our motto is that your work has to be seen! That is why our event is completely free to the public. We want the maximum number of people to attend, that is why we do not charge tickets.

Also for the 2022 edition we will set up a very fun photocall!! And we will also organize thematic projections to remember great classics of cinema.

If you are an independent filmmaker, this is your home!
