The Association Rive Gauche – Festival, Florence, Italy, is pleased to announce the 8th Firenze FilmCorti Festival.
The Festival aims at promoting the collaboration and competition between young directors and the promotion and distribution of audio-visual works from all over the world. The Festival also wants to encourage and facilitate participants in their contacts with producers, distributors, actors etc who will be guests of the event.
Festival Categories:
a - fiction short films
b - documentaries
c - innovative and experimental films
d - animations, cartoons and films for young people and schools
e - screenplays
f - ‘spazio giovani’ (Young category) - for films and videos made by the students of Academies, Universities, High Schools, Colleges and Cinema and Film Schools in Italy or abroad.

Awards & Prizes

The works will be selected and shortlisted by a Jury that will decide the Official Selection.
The shortlisted works will be judged by three Juries:
One Jury for the categories a, b, c, d mentioned in the Section 2 of the Rules and Regulations
One Jury for the Screenplays category (‘e’)
One Jury for the Spazio Giovani (Young category - ‘f’).

All the shortlisted films (Official Selection) will receive the attendance laurels.

All the awarded participants will receive a personalised plate and official certificate of attendance

Award for Best Work (among all categories): it will additionally be awarded Euro 500
Award for Best Fiction Short Film
Award for Best Innovative or Experimental Film
Award for Best Animation Film, or Film made by School Students
Award for Best Documentary Film
Award for Best Director
Award for Best Screenplay (among the Shortlisted films)
Award for Best Performer
Award for Best Directional Debut

Screenplay Category:
Award for Best Screenplay: Euro 500.
Best Screenplay, 2nd place and 3rd place: InkTip Package (it means the screenplay will be sent to the film production companies) and a personalized plate.
The Best Screenplay in Italian for a feature film will win the 4th ‘Elena Bertoldi special prize’ - commemorating the young Screenwriter Elena Bertoldi, passed away years ago.

Rules & Terms

Films: All the submitted film should not be longer than 40 minutes, included film credits.
Animation and films for young people and schools: the maximum duration for every film is 20 minutes, including the final credits.
Movies are accepted in any language, but they must be subtitled in Italian or in English.
Films admitted to the Official selection must be sent in a version with Italian subtitles.
Screenplays: it is possible to submit screenplays for both short films or feature films. Original screenplays for short films must be no longer than 30 pages, whereas screenplays for feature films must be longer than 30 pages.
Screenplays must be in English or in Italian.
