About

Welcome to The Lord of the Reels. The path of the independent filmmaker is a journey full of challenges, similar to Frodo's journey to Mordor. Limited resources, barriers to entry and unexpected obstacles that test your resolve.

At The Lord of the Reels, we believe that no one should walk this path alone. We are your allies on this journey, providing support, visibility and opportunities for each creator to take their work to the top of the industry.

The journey is difficult, but together, the destination is possible.

FIRST OBSTACLES TO OVERCOME
Projects that already have nominations have a much higher selection percentage.

That is why we have decided to be a bridge festival to help you with the first nominations. This way you will have many more options to be selected at other festivals.

Most festivals receive thousands of projects, only selecting between 10 and 20. This leaves a selection ratio between 1% and 0.6%. Practically impossible or very difficult.

With our system we will go from the ratio of less than 1% that other festivals have to ratios of between 10 and 33%.

HOW WILL WE DO IT?
We do not think it is ethical to receive 3,000 projects and only select 20. That is why we are going to limit the number of entries in each category. With this we will guarantee a ratio 40 times higher and it will also allow us to focus on each project to provide you with the maximum value.

An example of this is that we are going to promote all the projects. We will make posts of all the registered projects and if you wish we will publish your trailer on a page specialized in trailers.

In addition, our team is made up of directors, producers and distributors, so we can connect you with them to explore the possibility of distributing your projects or to obtain financing for future projects.

WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FESTIVALS?
We believe that the relationship between festivals and artists has to become closer again. Each festival has to use all its resources to help the filmmaker on their way. Currently, festivals only promote the winning projects and that is not enough. Funding the festival race is a huge effort and festivals should help much more. This is our motto:

Good communication. We answer all emails, personally notify all nominees and send a second email to the winners to notify the list of winners in each category.

We promote all the projects entered in the festival every week.

We make personalized laurels for each winning project so you can use them on your networks.

40x selection rate compared to other festivals.

Fast Notification. We notify the selections every two months so you don't have to wait 8 or 9 months for the results.

Ultra-reduced fees. As a festival, we subsidize 70% of the cost of each registration so the final fee that the artist must pay is much lower than normal. This is our way of helping you on this path.

Networking. Connections with Directors, Producers and Distributors.

EVENT
Exclusive Film Industry Showcase
Presenting your project at a festival is a great opportunity, but traditional festivals often limit your exposure to small audiences of 40 to 200 people—leaving many films without the breakthrough they deserve. That’s why we’ve created a completely different event.

Our private and exclusive showcase is designed specifically for distributors and producers, ensuring that each screening maximizes your chances of securing industry connections and future contracts. Instead of a limited festival audience, imagine your project being seen by thousands of key industry professionals—a single screening here could do more for your career than attending 100 festivals.

Our mission is simple: to accelerate your journey into the film industry and give your work the visibility it needs to succeed. This is the future of film networking, and we invite you to be part of it.

FREQUENTLY QUESTIONS
My project is already online, does this eliminate a possible selection?
Not at all. The project is yours and yours alone. You can do with it whatever you consider best to promote it. We support you 100% in that.

What is the production date limit?
We don't have a deadline for a reason. We have come across cases of very good projects that did not properly carry out their festival strategy at the time and finally abandoned their promotion. We believe in second chances and for our part we are not going to close this door on you.

Why is it important to have a good festival strategy?
In the same way that you are going to do a pre-production, a shooting plan and a post-production. You need to have a defined strategy for the promotion of your project. Unfortunately we see many cases of filmmakers who spend their entire budget in the first two months, registering in very expensive festivals, do not receive selections and abandon the promotion of that project.

Making a short film, documentary, feature film or script requires a lot of effort, sacrificing many things and it is a shame to see how all that effort goes to nothing because of not having a good planning. A project should have a 2-year festival planning, that is how you will create a name for yourself and your project will end up attracting the attention of some professional. If you do not know how to do this strategy you can contact us and we will help you in any way we can.
