Director's Biography
Born and brought up in Shimla, through lack of opportunity, Siddharth decided to grab the bull by the horns and make his own breaks.
Driven by the need to create value, he takes pride in making films in Himachal & believes that world class content can be made anywhere. He founded Secret Corridor Pictures with this aim and made some critically acclaimed films.
His short film 'Pashi' was the only Indian film to premiere at the Oscar Qualifying Flicker's Rhode Island International Film Festival in 2018. Pashi won 6 International Awards including Best Director, Best Film, Audience Choice, Best Actor and Best Cinematography and Indie Film Magazine called it 'India's Finest Short Film'. His next film titled 'The Flying Trunk' also received excellent reviews. UK Film Review called it a 'a remarkable film... a masterpiece'. Both films have released on MUBI this year.
After successfully completing these projects, Siddharth collaborated with a Hollywood based writer for his next film titled 'Catch the Light' which was commissioned by the Kashish Arts Foundation, Mumbai.
Produced by Indie Film Collective, Siddharth's 1st feature film 'Amar Colony' had its World Premiere in Nov 2022 at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (POFF) which is an A-List BAFTA & OSCAR Qualifying Festival, one of the biggest in Northern Europe. The film won a Special Jury Award for it's 'Originality of vision' at Tallinn Black Nights & Siddharth also won the Best Indian Debut Director Award at it's Indian Premiere at International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).
Siddharth holds a degree in MBA (Masters in Business Administration) and has also received the Hindustan Times Youth Achiever - 'Top 30 under 30 Award' for his outstanding accomplishment in this field. His Ted Talk ‘Discovering the Storyteller within you...’ has been winning hearts of many artists and aspiring filmmakers.
