• DOWNWICKE HOUSE grew out of a lifelong fascination with the landscapes of British folk horror — places where history feels unfinished and the land itself seems complicit. The story is rooted in the idea that evil does not need to be reborn; it simply waits to be remembered. I was drawn to the innocence of childhood set against rituals of obscene cruelty, and to the notion that power can be inherited without consent. Perry’s journey is not about becoming a hero, but about surviving what older generations failed to destroy. Visually and tonally, the film embraces atmosphere over explanation, allowing suggestion, memory, and ritual to do the work of terror. This is a story about legacy, belief, and the danger of what we choose to bury rather than confront.

Patrick Cormack has produced and toured live shows for EMI for many years, written BBC TV series, directed over 70 movies and performed at a Royal Show in the UK. He has directed well-known actors such as Gordon Jackson and Noah Hathaway. Patrick has also been involved in the editorial, for some three and a half years of a magazine publication that sold 300,000 copies per month in three different languages. Patrick’ movies have been shown in the commercial cinema, supporting such films as ET, A View To A Kill, Gremlins etc.
