EK SOORAT HAI MERI ANKHON MEIN
(A FACE IS THERE IN MY EYES)
Synopsis
This is a romantic suspense thriller that explores the different dimensions of love and the changing human relationships from the period of love-letters to the current mobile-internet days.
This is the story of Dora, who loves her dance partner Hrishabh. Later, she gets attracted to a new partner Adarsh and this new relationship finds an easy way through mobile, WhatsApp and Facebook. But within a few days, Adarsh leaves Dora with a man who is employed by some unknown people. They later hire a stranger to kidnap Dora and keep her for a night in a deserted old mansion that is actually haunted and neither of the two strangers knows about this.
This mansion is witness to some other love stories. It has a 35-year-old love story that was the era of love-letters and saying an "I love you" used to take years. Love had its twists and turns in that era of love-letters between Akash, Tarana, Abha and Babban. This results in the murder of one of the four lovers, whose soul is still in that mansion.
Now, 35 years later... Dora is the daughter of one of the couples in that love story and is kidnapped by a stranger who comes from the same story. Dora believes that all men are the same and that the stranger has kidnapped her for some evil purpose. A lot of things happen in that scary environment and at the end of this overnight journey of emotions, they find that an entirely new relationship is forming between them. The climax comes when the devil-minded people of the old story return in the morning with their unfulfilled desires but no one knows that the serious soul caught in that mansion is going to give the final turn to the story.

Director's Statement
My film EK SOORAT HAI MERI ANKHON MEIN is a research to identify what is love and how it changes with changing civilization. This is a film made with mostly non-actors, first time acting in a film. It is entirely shot on all real locations without constructing any set. Cinematography is done without using any light equipment. Entire film is shot in the available light of the place, so the whole responsibility of light-impact was on the blockings and camera movement. Camera accessories like track-trolly, reflectors, cutters etc. are not at all used. All camera movements are handheld.
