Producer Li-Yu Fu's Statement
Professor Li-Yu Fu created the heroine: Giwas, the daughter of an Atayal tribe leader, who is a warm-blooded personality, outgoing, lively, and curious. She dreams of becoming the first female tribal leader in the tribe. Go Go Giwas is an Indigenous-themed animated series targeted at children, designed to educate audiences about Indigenous Taiwanese cultures, particularly focusing on Indigenous customs, oral histories, environmental stewardship, relational values, and traditional wisdom. Giwas will take the audience on a journey of challenge and discovery while demonstrating the connections between Indigenous culture and modern science.

This story will inspire the audience to realize the importance of protecting the planet and encourage them to strive for a better future, understanding and respecting different cultures, and how to enhance our awareness of diversity in society.


Yi-Fneg's Statement
"Go Go Giwas" focuses on conveying scientific knowledge, highlighting the traditional culture and human emotions. I aim to entertain audiences with my works and allow them to learn while laughing. I aim to use animation to break conventional learning models, providing a relaxed environment for audiences to learn new knowledge while experiencing cultural and emotional feasts.

Suet-Er's Statement
Indigenous cultures are among the world's treasures, shared and inherited by all of us. Taiwan's indigenous culture is a unique and rich cultural heritage in Taiwan with abundant cultural connotations and historical backgrounds. With the development of modernization, many indigenous cultures have gradually disappeared, which will significantly impact the whole society.
What drew me to this project was hearing stories and experiences from the Atayal tribal chiefs and their worry about the disappearance of their culture. After being exposed to their culture, I was deeply drawn to their unique way of life and wisdom, including their reverence for nature, respect for life, and emphasis on relationships between people. Behind the cultural life of indigenous people lies a wealth of scientific knowledge. Over the years, indigenous people have lived off the natural environment, resulting in a deep understanding and experience in observing and utilizing aspects such as flora and fauna, weather, land, and water resources. Through their life experiences, I have learned many truths about life and humanity. For example, they profoundly believe in the interdependence between nature and humans to live in harmony with nature. Therefore, I decided to incorporate this wisdom and natural science knowledge into my film to allow more audiences to understand and appreciate the culture of Taiwan's indigenous peoples.
I put a lot of effects on the film, Go Go Giwas: Sowing Dream Seeds, to improve its appearance tonally and structurally. Therefore, the story's background, the costumes of the characters, and the environment are all inspired by the culture of Taiwan's Atayal tribe. Besides, some of the dialogue is in the Atayal language. We hope this cultural reference brings an authentic and meaningful element to the story, allowing the audience to appreciate and learn more about the Atayal tribe's customs, traditions, and way of life. Incorporating these cultural elements into the story also helps to preserve and promote the Atayal cultural heritage, ensuring that it continues to be passed down to future generations.
The audience needed not to go numb watching this film. We don't want the content to stray too far from real-life situations, which may lead to a lack of relevance. We must balance providing educational and informative content about Indigenous culture and science while ensuring that it remains fun, engaging, and relatable to the audience.
We put a lot of indigenous culture in our story with modern science insight. We adjusted the content ratio to ensure that all story elements seamlessly fit together to make the work look like a gorgeous piece. It was essential to us that the indigenous cultural aspects and modern scientific concepts intertwined between the two. We did this to ensure that our work not only represented the culture of Indigenous people but also demonstrated how it can be relevant and impactful to modern audiences. We believe that this effort was necessary to make the work stand out and convey the vital message we wanted to share.
Through this story, I hope the spirit of hope and love for the earth are conveyed to the audience so that everyone can change the world to make it a better place. This story will take the audience on a journey of fulfilling challenges and discoveries while showcasing the connection between Indigenous culture and modern science. Through this connection, we hope the audience will become aware of their connection to nature and consider how to take action to maintain the health and balance of the earth. We hope this story can inspire the audience to recognize the importance of protecting the Earth and motivate them to strive for a better future, understanding and respecting different cultures, and how this can enhance our appreciation for the diversity of our society.

Yi-Fneg's Biography
Yi-Fneg Kao is a Taiwanese animation director who has had a passion for drawing and animation since he was young. He enrolled in the Computer Animation program at Full Sail University in the U.S. in 2002. After graduation, he returned to Taiwan and worked as an animator, responsible for producing guide videos for museums and other attractions. In 2008, he directed "Go Go Giwas", which won the Best Animation Award at the Taiwan Golden Bell Awards. The work is light-hearted, interesting, and educational, and has been well-received by audiences.

Suet Er' Biography
Suet Er is an animated series director, creator, and art designer. She earned her bachelor's in 3D Animation at Shih Chien University, Taipei. Suet Er has worked professionally in the animation series, advertising, and entertainment industries for over 7 years. In the animation industry, Suet Er is known for her creativity in original content, artistic expression, directing, and storyboarding, which relates to her lifetime obsession with human psychology and deep artistic background.
