What if our oldest instrument, if made in a certain way and played in a certain way, could open a fundamental vibrational bridge between life and death?
And what if a gifted enough dancer, by dancing to that eternal rhythm, could defeat death itself?

A poor tabla-maker falls for a wild and gifted dancer, who dares him to create a grand romantic gesture to prove his love for her. While trying, he unwittingly unleashes an undead spirit that will stop at nothing to capture the beat of his heart - forever!

As the maker of “Panic House”, “LoveBeats”, “Evanescent” and "Twilight at the Edge", Kolkata-born Asian Brit Chris is well-versed in crafting cross-cultural, connection-driven films that transcend borders, utilizing his extensive knowledge of every production department, and uncovering the human element in everything from feature-length to silent short films

Working with Chris has resulted in profitable shorts, Emmy-winning editing, Best Cinematographer and Best Experimental Film awards.

When this generalist filmmaker isn’t globetrotting with a camera, you can find him fencing, flying or touring single malt distilleries.

Director's Statement

Once in a lifetime, or so it seems, comes a story to one's pen, almost completely formed, and all that remains is to write it down as honestly and clearly as one can, and then get out of the way and let it land as the universe intended.
How many times have you read that? My friend and co-producer on this project, Varun Panda, went back to India after many years of collaboration here in Los Angeles, and sent me photos of an abandoned house next door. I asked him to put a single candle down, at night, light it, and film the results.
"LoveBeats" is that result.

And read the book as well! It won an Honorable Mention at the London International Creative Competition... in the Best Screenplay category, because they didn't have a category for Best Scriptment yet.
Go on. Get in touch, ask me.
It's worth it.
