Director's Statement
I came across Athleticpisspig’s videos during some of my online forays. Far from usual porn fare, I was impressed by the innovation and quality of his numerous productions (568+). His expert direction, editing and production skills were captivating. It was surprising just how little I knew about this subject. Water-sports or “golden showers” spans the straight, gay and bisexual spectrum. While gay men are often open and frank about fetish "specialties,” pissing is less known and less discussed. It remains taboo for many, creating a closet within a closet.
Exploring the motivations and reasons for this controversial fetish may illuminate our complex human sexual psyche. Instead of dismissing piss-play as a disgusting or perverted act, it needs to be named, to be owned. What does it say about our sexual identities, our fears and our stereotypes? Athleticpisspig pushes the discussion to the front lines, ...literally.
I expect my film to spark this dialog. After the film, viewers can decide: is it porn or is it art?
