Director's Biography
From an early age, I have been immersed in an environment where the arts played a great part in my upbringing. I am the son of a watercolourist – Dircéa Mountfort and the nephew of the theatre technician – Felício Alves. I grew up in a bilingual British-Brazilian family, which allowed me to move between dierent worlds, serving as a kind of communication channel. Previous professional experiences allowed me to use my bilingualism as a bridge between Brazil and the outside world. After spending several years in Brazil I acquired a History Degree at The University of São Paulo (USP) and continued my studies at ELCV - a Cinema and Video Free School - and at ETEC - State Technical School - majoring in Design and Visual Communications. I also attented courses and workshops delivered by eld experts such as Christina Burnett (Documentary Pitch Trainer), Pamela Howard (Stage Designer), Patrício Guzman (Film Director) and Philip Guiliano (production director for Latin America at Live Nation Entertainment). I co-directed “Lovely” a documentary screened and honoured at the 23rd São Paulo International Short Film Festival by SESCTV – television network - with an Acquisition Award for Young Talents and worked as an assitant director at the feature lm entitled “Public Intimacy” which was awarded Best feature lm at the WOMEN Media Arts and Film Festival (Australia), as well as in the IV Dona i Cinema- Mujer y Cine- Woman & Film (Spain), Manhattan Independent Film Festival Awards (USA) apart from winning a Special Jury Mention at the Manchester Film Festival (UK). As a guest artist with the Minik Momdó Contemporary Dance Group I contributed with the video “How Are The Dead Raised Up? And With What Body Do They Come?”. I had the opportunity of also working in the record business at Paradoxx Music in the International Department responsible for licensing catalogues for the Brazilian territory, receptioning and accompanying artists (Nofx, Marky Ramone and The Intruders etc). At tempo Filmes I translated several programmes for the Discovery Channels and for Metalivros publishing house I was responsible for the Portuguese version of “ORLANDO VILLAS BÔAS Expedições, Reexões e Registros”. In collaboration with sound-artist Giuliano Obici I translated and narrated in English his interview given to Matt Lewis for London´s Resonance FM. In London – UK I provided administrative support to media operations for a multicultural internet tv station. In March I worked as a monitor accompanying students for On Stage Lab (Live Event and Concert Production School) during venue technical visits at Cold Play´s Music of the Spheres World Tour and Lollapalooza´s Brazilian 10th edition. While last year I completed their SHOWBUSINESS course – A Panorama of Live Entertainment where I was able to follow the preparations and actively participate in the delivery of national and international shows: Iron Maiden (Legacy of The Beast World Tour '22), Blue Note Entertainment Group São Paulo, Primavera Sound São Paulo, Liam Gallagher (C’mon You Know), GP Week and Knotfest Brasil
