Director's Statement

As a filmmaker, I am deeply interested in the fragile space between reality and perception—where human emotions, psychology, and social constructs intersect. My work is driven by a desire to explore the unseen layers of human behavior, often focusing on vulnerability, disconnection, and the quiet tensions that exist beneath everyday life.

Across my films—from Too Close But Too Far, which examines the paradox of digital connectivity and emotional isolation, to Mimosa Pudica, a visual exploration of sensitivity and human fragility—I aim to tell stories that are both intimate and reflective of larger social truths. These narratives are rooted in realism but shaped through an experimental lens, allowing me to push beyond conventional storytelling and engage audiences on a psychological level.

Coming from an independent filmmaking background, I have learned to approach cinema with both creativity and resourcefulness. Working within limited budgets has strengthened my focus on storytelling, performance, and visual composition—proving that impactful cinema is not defined by scale, but by intent and execution.

My creative approach is centered on building emotionally authentic experiences. I am particularly drawn to stories that raise questions rather than offer clear answers—stories that linger, provoke thought, and invite the audience to reflect on their own perspectives. Whether addressing social issues, internal conflicts, or cultural identity, I strive to create films that resonate beyond the screen.

As I move into larger projects such as Phantosmia, I continue to expand my exploration of psychological storytelling, blending cinematic aesthetics with deeper narrative complexity. My goal is to bridge independent artistic expression with broader audience engagement, creating films that are both meaningful and impactful.
