Terry Podnar, a graduate of Kent State, is a prolific screenwriter and producer who currently lives in Akron, Ohio. His passion for films started at an early age when he wrote and filmed numerous independent films. However, Terry was sidetracked by founding and running a successful business. After selling the business, Terry was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2021. To fill a void in his life, he returned to his passion of screenwriting. Since then he has written six award winning feature length screenplays and five short scripts. Recently, Terry's feature script, The Red Zone, was selected as a Finalist by the New York International Screenplay Awards and ranks on Coverfly's The Red List. One of Terry's scripts, Broken Worlds, has been optioned to Pollack Films. Recently, he has started ,his own production company, Podnar Philm Productions under the guidance of Producer, Jean-Francois Cavelier. Terry is also a producer of a film currently in pre-production, Because of Us and is currently working on a script/biopic about his struggles with cancer.
