Director's Statement
I was inspired making this film by current world events that all long for more spirituality in order to conquer and solve them, then, and now even more, by means of bringing cultures together and learn from each other. Part of my roots brought me to Bulgaria to the Balkan mountains where a big part was shot, then thru my film festival visits in India when I got to experience its rich culture, I was inspired to film there, and the beginning is set in my domicile country Switzerland where we also shot up in the Swiss mountains. All these locations and the storyline merged very well into a global mystery thriller.
The journey of Jeff Boyd underlines the human part in us trying to start over, when something goes wrong, and to find a new way to get a hold on our lives in order to find peace, redemption, and love, but our past lives don’t let us go so easily, holding us back, obstacle after obstacle make our path hard and painful. We keep trying and ask ourselves “Can I make it?”.
The project which I wrote back in 2019 has been interrupted by world events, but we sticked to it, got a great team together, and started filming in Switzerland, India, Bulgaria, and Germany. Talking about obstacles, our filming start was interrupted by a road bomb on one of our locations, for political reasons, and we couldn’t move anywhere. Then in India with its different cultures and habits was an other intriguing experience where we got great support. Kept fingers crossed, we could complete all our shooting schedules and now, we can present the spiritual journey of Jeff Boyd that is loaded with surprises and twists, culture and mystery, a score by Mario Grigorov, songs by Queeny King and Shruti Banerjee, Swiss, Bulgarian, and Indian ethnic music, beautiful pictures by Chris Hirschhäuser, and a remarkable cast, with special mention of Valentin Ganev.
Big thanks to the whole team, supporters and helpers, who made this film happen!
