Federico Del Buono graduated in Communication Sciences from the University of Bologna, taking his first steps into the world of cinema immediately after graduating.
In 2017 he decides to invest in himself and his passion for writing and produces and interprets the role of the co-protagonist in his first short film "FIND ME". Despite its modest nature, the project will represent a turning point: the passion for directing and above all the professional partnership with the Bolognese actress Vanessa Montanari is growing. It is precisely on her that she points everything to her directorial debut with the award-winning short film "Conquista il Mondo", entrusting her with the role of the protagonist. The independent short film achieved incredible success at festivals around the world, resulting in the most awarded short film in Bologna in 2018 with almost forty results in less than seven months. Los Angeles, New York, London, Toronto, Calcutta and Rome are just some of the cities where "Conquista il Mondo" has triumphed both as Best Short Film but also in individual categories: Best Editing, Best Soundtrack, Best Dramatic Short, Best Photography, best director and above all best leading actress, winning five times out of nine individual selections making her one of the most selected actresses in the circuit of independent Bolognese short films.
During the preparation of the short film, he is called upon to interpret one of the characters of “Tutto il Palazzo”, a documentary produced by LA REPUBBLICA, directed by Paolo Muran and Emilio Marrese, which sees Vito and Bob Messini among the protagonists. Working with Muran will be very positive for Del Buono who captures much of his style.
In addition to cinema, there are two other great passions for the Bolognese director: music and writing. The first is a passion that comes from childhood but that only with the encounter with the Catania composer Marco Triolo will it really enhance itself. Triolo has signed all the soundtracks of the Del Buono shorts by winning a prize for the best soundtrack in Calcutta for his work in "Conquista il Mondo".
At the end of 2018 Del Buono presents to the public his debut novel "The Milky Way" published with the Viterbo publishing house "Alter Ego Edizioni". In the spring of 2019 a promotional tour is scheduled throughout Italy for the presentation of the novel.
In 2019 Del Buono returns to directing with a short of national caliber: "The wall between us" produced by Paolo Muran and Giorgio Ciani and sees among the co-productions involved realities such as Genoma Film Di Paolo Rossi, The National Academy of Cinema in Bologna , The Emilia Romagna Region and the Metropolitan City of Bologna. The short, set in the Bologna Apennines, features an all-Emilia cast of excellence: Stefano Pesce and Ivano Marescotti are the protagonists of this family drama accompanied by Vito and, again, Vanessa Montanari, respectively the family doctor and the daughter of Marescotti.
The short film immediately receives a positive response from critics, praised positively by newspapers of the matter such as Ciak magazine, Mymovies and Universal Cinema among many others and, above all, by the public at its world premiere on the occasion of the opening of the ROME FILM FESTIVAL 2019 , convincing by its extremely intimate and direct nature.
2020 starts with a bang! Conquest the world lands on the small screen in the United States, thanks to the collaboration born between the director and the SHAMI MEDIA GROUP of Miami (leading company in America that deals with film distribution on streaming and home video platforms), on the SHORTS TV channel and then the great milestone for the small independent short film: the film will soon be available on the AMAZON PRIME VIDEO US streaming platform.
