Director's Biography
Professionally, Abhilash Chandran is known for his work as an educational tutor and financial expert. His passion for cinema, acting, screenwriting, and directing began at a young age. He has performed in various acts which includes acting, dancing, singing, etc. at school levels and had been famous among his friends a "Jayan" as he imitated the versatile actor of malayalam Mr. Jayan. Apart from dramas that he did at various stages he also staged dance programs. The short film titled "Kirathan" was his directorial debut in 2013. His subsequent films, including "Madiyan," "Mrithyunjayam," "Passenger," "The Mirage," "Thiruvonappoovu," and "Too Close But Too Far," were all based on his screenplays. He also appeared in the lead role for the short film "Kintsugi". His short film "The Mirage" won the Award for Outstanding Performance in the Gangtok International Film Festival in the year 2022. He also won the best director award for experimental short film in English for his short film "Too Close But Too Far" in the Pulari International Awards. His music album "Thiruvonappoovu" won the "Outstanding Excellence" award in the Religion Faith International Film Festival in U.S. for the subcategory - Direction.
