Director's Statement
Walking is a short film of lights and shadows, and visual textures, with emphasis on the act of walking, through varied places and countries. Walking can be an automated movement, which has no purpose in itself. But walking is also dependent on where we want to go - a destination; where we start from and where we want to reach; and I only go, alone or accompanied, where my own steps take me. Observing the ground we walk on is part of this process, on the way, a path that leaves behind (or ahead) its own shadow, and as Paul Valéry said - Cahiers - "Walking is remembering".
