Director's Statement

"What Really Happened Was" is a snapshot of what is going on in the minds of five teenage best friends as they struggle through the aftermath of an alleged rape case within their very tight-knit circle. A romance is shattered, trust is betrayed and, most tragically, a young woman's life will never be the same again. Each must make a decision on how to move on. This is their story, as each decides "what really happened was..."
