About Joan Montreuil
Joan Montreuil is an Ordained Minister, Award-Winning Author, Screenwriter, Filmmaker, Educator, and Visionary Storyteller with over 27 years of experience mentoring new writers, actors, and filmmakers. As the founder of Wisdom Productions, Brilliant Women in Film, The Newbie Film Academy, and Montreuil Publishing Company, Joan has dedicated her life to inspiring purpose, awakening potential, and equipping creatives to thrive in both ministry and media.
Her storytelling boldly bridges faith and real life, with themes of justice, healing, and redemption at the heart of her books, stage plays, and films. Whether teaching behind the camera or leading in front of one, Joan empowers first-time creatives to walk boldly in their calling—turning vision into legacy, one project at a time.
Storytelling is not just what I do—it’s who I am. My purpose as a filmmaker is to awaken hearts, inspire healing, and shine a light on stories that are often overlooked. Whether through books, stage plays, or film, I am committed to telling truth with grace, and truthfully representing voices that deserve to be seen and heard.
As a woman of faith, every project I create carries a deeper calling—to restore hope, honor heritage, and cultivate legacy. I believe first-time filmmakers, like those I teach through The Newbie Film Academy, are not just beginners—they are visionaries. They just need a guide. That’s what I aim to be.
This work is more than entertainment. It’s ministry. It’s mentorship. It’s movement.
