In a world where independent voices often struggle to find a widespread audience, our festival stands as a beacon of opportunity and inclusivity. The core idea behind the Bollywood International Mainstream Movie Awards is to celebrate mainstream movies. Also, at BIMMA we bring independent films into the limelight, providing a platform where their unique stories, perspectives, and cinematic brilliance can shine on the mainstream stage.

Created by a bunch of independent filmmakers ourselves, we believe in the power of storytelling to transcend boundaries and captivate audiences from every corner of the globe. By showcasing independent films at our festival, we aim to break conventional barriers, inviting a diverse audience to experience the richness and depth of narratives that might otherwise remain undiscovered.

Our mission is to redefine the landscape of mainstream cinema by integrating the bold voices of independent filmmakers. Through this endeavour, the Bollywood International Mainstream Movie Awards seeks to reshape the industry, fostering a symbiotic relationship between independent cinema and mainstream recognition.

It is known to us that the name Bollywood is a blend of two words, combining Bombay and Hollywood. ‘Bo’ comes from the city of Bombay (current Mumbai), is where Indian language mainstream genre was born and ‘llywood’ comes from ‘Hollywood’, the birthplace of mainstream global cinema.

We at Bollywood International Mainstream Movie Awards, truly believe that every film has a commercial value and has a set of niche audience. The term “mainstream” can never be bounded by production houses. If you have a great content, you can do it too.

We aim to revolutionise the idea of mainstream cinema and add value to the international independent cinema. Let’s not dilute the idea of “mainstream” and “Hollywood/ Bollywood” to just blockbuster content and start to see beyond it.

As the curtains rise, prepare to embark on a journey that celebrates the diversity, richness, and sheer entertainment that Bollywood has offered to audiences worldwide. Join us as we showcase the best of mainstream cinema, recognizing the exceptional talent and storytelling that define the essence of Bollywood on the international stage. The Bollywood International Mainstream Movie Awards - where dreams are captured, stories unfold, and the spirit of cinema unites us all.

Every submitted film will undergo a review process by a panel of industry experts will further evaluate the finalists and determine the winners. Monthly season winners will be awarded official BIMMA laurels, trophies, and additional prizes. These monthly winners will also be contenders for the Annual BIMMA Awards (The Best of the Best) and will receive invitations to the annual live screening Award event.

Before submitting your film to BIMMA, please go through the Rules and Terms, as your submission implies your binding agreement to adhere to them.

1. Films submitted for a specific month in BIMMA can be resubmitted for a second chance, given different judging panels for each season.
2. Films in languages other than English must include English subtitles; otherwise, they may be rejected at the discretion of BIMMA.
3. BIMMA reserves the right to reject entries and allows directors/producers to submit multiple films in a category or across different categories simultaneously.
4. By submitting, you indemnify and hold BIMMA harmless from claims related to copyright, trademark, credits, and publicity, incurring any associated expenses.
5. Officially selected films will be listed on the festival website, indicating acknowledgment by the judging panel, but it doesn't guarantee screening at the festival.
6. BIMMA won't refund fees for incorrect category submissions. Films lacking correct fees or proper submission media may be deemed ineligible, with no coverage of filmmaker expenses.
7. Submission requires an official trailer or poster, synopsis, and a film link, with careful category selection to avoid disqualification. BIMMA reserves the right to reassign films to appropriate categories.
8. Nominees will be privately screened for the BIMMA judging panel, not initially to the public.
9. Filmmaker submission fees are non-refundable, even if they choose to withdraw their submission.
10. Indemnification clause: You agree to hold BIMMA harmless from claims related to copyright, trademark, credits, and publicity, covering associated expenses.

BIMMA may amend Rules & Terms without notice; updates are your responsibility to check periodically. Amendments are effective immediately upon publication.
